Website traffic, good and bad.

March 16, 2017 by Rune Ellingsen

What is Website “Traffic” really?

Website Traffic explained:

The shorts answer to that would be:

“It’s the lifeblood of any online business!”

And it’s true in every sense of the word.

Any visitor to your site counts as “traffic”. Also any bot crawling your site.

No visitors essentially means nobody is interested in reading, sharing, joining or even buying your stuff.

Goes without saying really that without it, your business is doomed to fail!

Let’s take a semi-deep look on what website traffic really is, and how the different types of traffic work.

What do you mean? All traffic work right?

– BUZZER: NO! – Aim to get targeted and engaged interested prospects.

Yeah sure, visitors are visitors right???

BUZZER: NO! – Again… TARGETED.

Below is covered some website traffic sources which you should use and also NOT use. This is depending on your project of course but for a serious site you might want to steer clear of some service providers as revealed below. First off, I share the BAD…

  • 1. Bad Website Traffic

Let me tell you a brief old story to shed some light on BAD TRAFFIC.

From 2012…

The other day (back in 2012) I ordered some traffic to my blog to see whatever result I got from it.

It was traffic from allover the world, un-targeted, and it was directed to one of the pages on this site where I give away some free stuff.

We used Adf.ly for this example.

(EDITED: This was way back,… And yeah, the traffic is horrible, bots, at least, for this project)

There you see the results from the first day.

what is website traffic

And here are the results of the second day.

website traffic

16 bucks per day provided this number. (Cheap source, but not the best)

These results are normal when you buy traffic and that is why it makes marketing efforts easier when you invest in your company.

However… These leads came from a landing page where I presented a free offer. Which can mean that the visitors are freebie-seekers.

*A race of human relatively unknown to the common Joe. They seek all free stuff but never (or rarely) use it. Kind of like “mud on your tire”. – Don’t get me wrong, I like mud too! Just not when it comes to sales.

Anyways…. My stats in Aweber confirmed the hunch of this.

Most of the visitors were there just to get the initial gift and a large number ( too big ) dropped out and unsubscribed.

If I had been more persistent back then as I am now I would have done an extra effort to convert freebie seekers into interested prospects.

You CAN use this traffic for some promos…

But I would advice against it.

  • First off, there is a lot of BOT traffic.
  • Secondly it can be downright illegal to use on certain networks, due to this.

So IF you want to test them out it is cheap but you must be warned that most networks would not allow it.

Check with your affiliate/CPA network before sending traffic to any of their offers.

This type of traffic I would advise anyone to stay away from.

Where it CAN be used is for paid to click affiliate offers.

But again, It’s not worth the risk IMHO.

So the conclusion from 2012 was:

This particular traffic is not anywhere near good enough for my project.

When you encounter a LOT of bot traffic and overall poor response numbers from your traffic source, run!

It’s as bad as it gets.

So that is a short case study on poor value traffic.

It is recognized as low engagement from your hits.

It CAN be used for some projects but as mentioned above, there are other sources needed for serious growth.

Let’s talk about the interesting, worthwhile and USEFUL kind now…

  • 2. Good Website Traffic

Targeted HOT traffic is what you want.

Cold, Warm, Hot AND Targeted is some of the words that define your traffic.

Adf.ly traffic is cold. Media buys in general is cold.

Unless you do proper targeting where you only buy ads to show to the ones most likely to be interested in your stuff.

People that have heard of your offer or your brand…

And also re-targeting, sending multiple ads to interested over and over.

Cold traffic to explain, is where you advertise to people that has never heard of you, they may like weight loss, but have never seen your ad before.

So they may click but stays on the fence in regards to the offer they are presented with as they have no idea as to if it will work or not for them. And also, if the can trust it.

If only they had known your name…

Trust and recognition is vital.

You need to show your ad 7 times before it get’s imprinted as “safe” with most people.

Or MORE. On average.

If you do a re-targeting campaign of some sort where the visitor has seen your ad or site before and clicks again… That prospect is WARMER. Willing to read more.

A HOT visitor is the one you nail with your message and targeting.

It’s the one that is truly passionate about getting your stuff.

One that already knows who you are, or know your product.

OR, has been warmed up by any indoctrination campaign from either ads.

And also, possibly from a cross promotion where someone has a list of leads and they have talked so much about it before they send the link that they are ready to join.

Trust, again… Is currency, and vital.

A hot visitor…

It can be the one that you have gotten on an email list as cold, in other words…

Then after sending him/her a number of related posts and perhaps even a survey where you ask what content does he or she prefer…

He/she gets warm.

Then you get the answer and then again, you can promote according to the answers they gave on a survey.

Another HOT visitor is someone that has bought your stuff from before and is in between upsell 1 and two.

Or in between the main product and upsell.

If someone already has spent their hard earned money with you then the chances for them spending more money is high as they already have lowered their guard and started trusting you.

A Hot visitor can also be one that has just gone ahead and gotten your products. When you email that person in a follow up sequence right after they have bought… The lead is still HOT.

Possibly ready to invest more, IF you have nailed your targeting, offer, and audience.

At least in general for a couple of weeks.

This is in general and not written in stone as said.

If you nurture your list well it may be highly responsive for a long time.

What is website traffic from… Space?

Well, yes. Earth is in space… So that is a valid sentence!

Below is a few of the tactics that is worthy of mentioning when it comes to driving targeted traffic.

  1. Media Buys. (Ads)
  2. Launches
  3. SEO
  4. Press Relases.
  5. Social Exposure
  6. Blogging/Guest Blogging

1.

Now we can start off with Media Buys.

It works like this, you pay for your ad in display on a site or a number of sites. And your ad drives traffic to your desired site.

It’s FAST, like fastest… But will set you back a little, OR A LOT of coin in the beginning.

When approaching Media Buys it is of utmost importance that you get your target audience as drilled down as possible.

Especially when you can.

Like, if you use Facebook ads, then you can “hyper target” your prospect with a huge number of options so you can be sure that ONLY the persons MOST likely to be interested in what you are selling will see it.

Other networks have similar targeting.

So the KEY here is to have a product  ready and you MUST KNOW your perfect audience.

It’s a good idea to drill that down BEFORE you invest in this kind of website traffic.

  • You should know your target audience from before but if you are unsure then go deeper and find out more.

2.

Launches?

Yup.

Creating a product and delivering it in a launch is a sure fire way to get interested prospects on to you list.

This is a big topic which I will not cover in great detail here and now.

BUT, what I will add is that this is SOME of best traffic in terms of mo-ney.

Main issues there is the amount of time and energy it takes to create one…

And you need to have a product you KNOW will sell, ot it can bomb…

People you get to open up their wallet are the people that will pay your bills, now and days, weeks and even years to come IF you play your cards right.

The first barrier has gone with these people, they already bought your product.

So there is trust. As long as your product is worth the cost. Or more.

3.

SEO

Search Engine Optimization can be complex.

What it means is that you can improve your site’s content and structure according to Googles guidelines to get as high on Google’s search results as possible.

Then it is “optimized” for the search engine.

You have on-page SEO and off-page SEO.

On-page, is in example your article, or this article for that matter, where we target a keyword like “what is website traffic”.

This is not the best example for on-page seo though. This article is intended to climb just a bit. It’s more of an overall rewrite right now) I might change it around later =)

Using Yoast SEO plugin you can follow the steps to get as good rating as you want.

But this is RATHER easy and uses logic…. The harder more time consuming part is Off-Page.

Yes, “Off-Page”.

So this is not magic either but takes more time.

It’s all about sharing your site with as many relevant pages as possible and getting your link indexed on as many other sites like that as possible. Rule here is NO bad sites that have bad links. Try to find WELL known sites that have domain authority.

BASICALLY that is it. If enough off page work is done then Google will see your site as an authority site. Of course there are MANY MANY more variables here, but the bottom line is IF you choose SEO it may take time to get visitors but IF you can make your site rank high, then the traffic can be both passive, targeted, and free.

4.

Press Releases.

Having the word spread for your business with a Press Release is highly efficient as it brings fast results you can measure.

If you are good at writing and have a good article to share then why not use what is known as Mainstream Media instead of all other tactics.

You can get exposure for any article you write. However for it to be reaching the top news channels you can expect to be paying for it.

In general a Press Release can be done Free, or paid. You can submit yourself to a ton of channels, and you can also use software both free and paid to aid the publication process.

Outsourcing this is easy also and can be done with a small investment starting from 5 bucks.

Normally you would need to spend a LOT LOT more.

Regular pricing for a good QUALITY Press Release is around $300 and UP.

You can expect to get a lot of traffic and backlinks from this.

If you have a good provider that is…

If you’re going for the top news channels, be sure to have a good server so it don’t crash due to high volume.

This article was written SO LONG AGO… So things have changed drastically since then.

There’s a number of traffic sources out there, infinite really, so this could use a better rewrite than I just did.Date now is 25th of Novemeber 2021.

And just to add this: I run a Press Release company as a digital service provider these days.

I offer HIGH QUALITY mass media attention with profesionally crafted news content pieces in the form of Press Releases. The distribution goes out to hundreds of the TOP news channels.

You can learn more about it here:

Visit Agency Deluxe for more information.

5.

SOCIAL EXPOSURE

ALSO a factor for off page SEO.

Not much though. But what matters really is people visiting your site, and how long they stay,

This is the traffic you get from social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and many more.

You get traffic by posting your articles, interacting with the people, joining related groups and sharing content with value and direct traffic to your site.

MEGA important to be HUMAN here and not “sell”.

Since it comes from “SOCIAL” networks, “social” being the KEYWORD.

Make dialogue in groups etc…

6.

Blogging.

Yup.

A blog like this one can help bring in customers to your business.

So a blog can get traffic from all sorts of places. But since it is “parked” where people can see it… People drop by.

This requires traffic anchors, like if you have submitted your link somewhere or your keywords rank or other.

And on your blog you can redirect even more traffic to other sites in your network.

So it’s a win win.

Guest blogging will also increase your reader count.

You can contact blog owners in your niche.

Offer to do a guest post and bring your most valuable content, or close to it in an article.

Be sure to link back to your site in it.

This gives you long term traffic which you have already warmed up with your stellar content.

Be sure to get your content on a high traffic relevant blog.

All of these tactics can give you huge amounts of website traffic

You can ALWAYS get more traffic.

There is literally unlimited with website traffic sources out there.

Just be sure to keep on adding value and drive relevant website traffic at the same time so the people who do visit might want to come back again for more.

If you are looking for massive exposure to your business I do accept clients on a a recurring basis where I drive traffic to them.

See more on AgencyDeluxe.com and get in touch there for a talk before ordering.

If you feel you could need it, you can reach out to me and I can tell you some more about it and see if it fits to your business.

It will fit most, but if you are planning some really really competetive terms then we need a grand strategy as a basis before deplying traffic from my service.

Hot To Get Backlinks

March 16, 2017 by Rune Ellingsen

Can you really achieve to get good traffic if you know how to get backlinks?

If you are the owner of a website… Then you know that you would need a lot of good trustworthy and relevant backlinks in order to make it climb to the top of Google and also, in order for it to get extra relevant traffic.

Goes without saying really but you  want targeted relevant traffic. Doing this link building manually can be a tedious task though.

So we have collected a number of helpful hints and tools that will show you the way you do link building easy.

So: What links are the best and where do you get them?

.edu  And .gov backlinks are very high in value to Google.

Domain Relevancy is also key.

The more relevant site you can find to place your link, the more potential traffic comes from the link itself.

The more you have of these links pointing back to your site the more perceived value is thought to be inside of your website. At least this used to be the the Google thinking.

These days Google base their ranking factor on a number of other factors also.

Social proof etc…

Still, backlinks are vital and very much alive.

Be sure to do White-Hat tactics and that will help your site in the long run.

High PR is something which also carries a lot of weight in your backlinks. The higher Pagerank of the site you are linking to, the higher your site will be placed on Google.

Aged Domain is something you should notice also. If you link to an aged domain it carries a weight far heavier than any new site. PERIOD. You can buy domains with age from Godaddy auctions by the way. Find one with your keyword and it will be easy to rank with it compared to building a new site.

Also you may want to use http://justdropped.com to see for domains. It’s a very good site for finding aged domains.

Trustflow, the metric that is more relevant today, like backlinks were just years ago.

You can use a tool like SEMRush for Firefox or Chrome and Google anything. Then SEMRush provides data like backlinks, trustflow and more.

How to backlink?

Simply read a post on a “similar topic site” ( internet marketing – internet marketing sites) then make a comment on the post you read providing quality feedback and your URL to your internet marketing site.

That is ONE backlink. Comment backlinks has it’s place.

Depending on the site you can expect to get ranking, trust factor and traffic boost from that one comment and link.

Not a big deal necessarily, so that is why you need more of them.

A way to do this even better is to find the sites with the most traffic and then posting your comments on them.

ALWAYS think quality before quantity when your post is being read by real people.

How?

Go to Quantcast.com, have it open.

Open up a new tab and open Google. Search for “internet marketing blog”. Without quotes of course.

From your Google search you will find a lot of results and if you want to you can start with the one on top and work your way down.

Now you can use quantcast for demographics and interests in some way, but I use it for numbers of visitors.

First result we had was:

http://blog.hubspot.com We then inserted our URL into Quantcast and got good indication that this is a great start.

*Not all sites show their stats.

Estimated Traffic for Jan 01, 2012 – Jan 30, 2012 United States
People per Month 19,123 +47%
Visits per Month 7,315 2440%

From this brief check we know that this is an active site with active viewers.

Let’s see if we can find a place to steal some juice from…

And yes. Here is a great post on the new LinkedIn “share” button. http://blog.hubspot.com/blog/tabid/6307/bid/31601/default.aspx

In the end of the page we can comment and leave a link which will point back to our site.

What is it worth?

Let’s see.

Using a tool like Market Samurai as a preferred analysis tool we came up with these numbers:

Age 4 years.

Pr. 6.

And a whole lotta’ backlinks pointing to the site was revealed.

What does this tell us?

This tells us that a big number of people are using this site as part of their education.

Just by adding a simple comment you get a link from a PR 6 website pointing towards your site.

If you add a USEFUL comment you get REALLY relevant traffic from your comment also.

This is a more time consuming way of linking and the goal is to get targeted traffic rather than simply harvesting backlinks for your Google climb.

You can use backlinking to gain ranking with trust and PR. And also get traffic for years from simple helpful comments on the right places.

There are a number of ways to spread your links and commenting is only one way.

Writing articles is another. You can be very independent on this task and add your links where they can be added all over the internet via using various media channels. I.e. Free E-Books or content on your Facebook page, Twitter page, Youtube Video and Slideshows and more… Possibilities for posting your links are virtually endless.

Easier way of Link Building EFFORTLESSLY

First of all I will mention DropMyLink.com which is a simple tool for finding .edu .gov and a WIDE area of other very good links.

Here you can use DropMyLink.com instead of Google search commands.

Secondly there is Fiverr.com  for easy timesaving.  Order by using the search field and add “backlinks”,”.gov”,”.edu”,”paul and angelas”,”angelas” and more variations. I.e. “High Pagerank” or “Link-wheel”. Sort by rating and then read for testimonials. There is a lot of good link juice from Fiverr.com. Cheap also. Be sure to spend enough money on all of your sites. Start with anything from one to 5 gigs per site.

Important: The more random you order gigs AND where you order from, the more natural the links would seem to Google.

BEWARE: DO NOT BUY PBN’s unless  you know the seller is proven over TIME!

Software for links:

You can use several link services and software to send out content carrying links in the form of articles or social bookmarking and more.

Article Samurai is one very good service for this.

SENukeX or SEO LINK ROBOT are also amazingly good tools for this task.

You can find link networks to join from anything from cheap, to V.I.P prices that also will give you a big boost in authority. BUT right now I would be very careful and Google to check if that link network has been banned by Google. Right now they are in brute force war and Google has penalized a number of networks. It is key to get diversified large network with proven retention rate with Google over time if you can get one.

Links will always be valuable as they stand for social recognition for other people AND Google.

Therefore you should always look for ways to get a good deal on links.

That’s it for this post.

  • Will be adding more resources later. Be sure to check out the other posts.

Make Money With ShareASale Affiliate Marketing

June 21, 2016 by Rune Ellingsen

Make Money With ShareASale Affiliate Marketing – By Guest Blogger: Ibrahim Dahy

ShareASale.com is one of the most reputable affiliate networks out there, and in this post we are covering the basics of how to make money with ShareASale Affiliate Marketing.

It MIGHT not be as popular as Amazon or Clickbank but those who use it on their affiliate website can attest to the money making potential it offers.

Some of the top products on the market are on ShareASale (i.e. HootSuite) and across various niches you will find high paying affiliate products to promote.

Make Money With ShareASale Affiliate Marketing

  • Signup with ShareASale

ShareASale provides an easy and straight forward signup process.

They require that you own a website from which you will do affiliate marketing for your products.

The most notable requirement is that you need to enter a valid email address which is preferably from your affiliate website that you entered into your application.

For example if your affiliate website is “mysite.com” then you should sign up with “SOMETHING@mysite.com”.

You should not use a free email account like Gmail or Hotmail as this will require further verification that you own your affiliate website.

  • Make Money With ShareASale Affiliate Marketing: Payments.

The best thing about ShareASale is that your account has only $50 withdrawal threshold!

Meaning that once you earn $50 or above you can start withdrawing your money.

You can reach that number easily especially if you are a beginner affiliate.

And you can receive your payments via checks

Make Money With ShareASale Affiliate Marketing 1

Once you finish your application, you need to check your email to finish any required verifications and prepare your application for review by ShareASale.

  • Choosing Your Affiliate Products on ShareASale

There are over 3,900 products that are spread across very interesting niches, so you will have products of options to choose from.

Make Money With ShareASale Affiliate Marketing 2

Some products require separate approval from the vendor in order to become an affiliate for them. If you have a quality affiliate website and follow ethical promotion tactics then getting such approval will be fast and without problems.

ShareASale list coupon codes for the products that offer them.

This is a great selling technique for affiliates because many potential buyers are always looking for deals on the products they are interested in.

This increase sales conversion rates to high levels.

Accessing those coupons is easy once you login to your ShareASale account.

Unlike other affiliate networks where you have to either contact the product owner himself or visit his affiliate page to get banner ads and coupon codes, ShareASale gives you access to all these materials from your dashboard.

  • Choosing your offer:

When you are choosing your affiliate product you should keep three things in mind:

  1. Relevancy of the Product
  2. Reputation
  3. Product Price

The most obvious criteria when choosing your affiliate product is how relevant it is to your affiliate website or blog.

Your affiliate product should not only be relevant to your affiliate website but also should be relevant to your micro niche.

For example, if you have a fat loss blog then try to avoid promoting generic weight loss products and instead find fat loss products with all its variations (i.e. fat loss around the waist…etc).

This will help increase your affiliate sales because your visitors will see your affiliate product as super relevant.

More importantly they will know it will solve their specific problem and trust your recommendation since your affiliate blog specialize in this micro niche.

  • The product’s reputation:

This play a major role in your conversion rates; it positively or negatively affects the reputation and trust level of your affiliate website.

Judging the reputation of any product goes beyond common sense, because not only the product’s effectiveness is a sign of good reputation…

But, also how well they treat their customers with their technical and customer support.

A simple Google search can show you the brand reputation of your affiliate product, “PRODUCT inurl:forum”

Make Money With ShareASale Affiliate Marketing 3

Not only you can know the reputation of the product from this search, but also you can use the positive testimonials on your affiliate website to boost your sales.

The product’s price is usually the first thing affiliate marketers look for when deciding to promote any product. But this should be the last judging factor to use.

High product price indeed can guarantee you high affiliate commission but it doesn’t guarantee you high volume affiliate sales.

That’s why you should combine the product’s price with the other factors I outlined above.

  • How to Promote Your Affiliate Products

There are many online channels that can drive targeted traffic to your affiliate website like:

  • Social Media
  • SEO

Social media is great when it comes to getting traffic to your affiliate blog, websites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest already have millions of daily visitors between them

Being able to direct a fraction of that traffic is not as challenging as you think.

You first need to setup an account on these social media website and link to them from your affiliate blog.

Try to be active on social media at least twice a week by posting tweets and content.

This will help increase your followers’ amount and encourage sharing of your blog’s content.

You might not get much traffic at first from social media…

Still, over time, your name and brand will become well known and people will start coming to your affiliate website with a certain trust level that was generated with your brand awareness.

  • Search Engine Optimization is a good source of quality traffic and if done right, it will be a source of potential buyers’ traffic.

A good technique that affiliate marketers use is to create an honest product review on their blog, and then try to rank the review page for the product’s brand.

But this technique is more successful for established products, or soon to be popular products.

In order to make sure that your affiliate product falls in that category, go to Google’s keyword tool and search for “ProductName review”.

Make Money With ShareASale Affiliate Marketing 4

If you see enough searches (300 or above) then you can start doing SEO and targeting this keyword.

Try to make your product review page as informative and honest as possible.

Once the traffic starts to come in, your review page will determine how well you are going to sell.

Affiliate marketing with ShareASale is like any other affiliate network; they all require the same amount of work and the same traffic generation and selling techniques.

Learn about affiliate marketing by getting a training or reading success stories from other affiliate marketers, this will help you evolve as a marketer in general and as affiliate marketer in particular.

Affiliate Sales Increased with Reciprocity

March 27, 2016 by Rune Ellingsen

Reciprocity and the Law and Science of Persuasion in Affiliate Marketing.

Reciprocity is a concept that you should be familiar with as an affiliate marketer if you want to increase your affiliate sales.

Simply because if you learn the science behind the reciprocity concept you will understand how sales are made and how the art of human psychology can help you make more money.

better roi

In general all the average affiliate marketer does is try to present his pitch to the readers and hoping that some of them will end up buying the product he is promoting.

While this works perfectly most of the times, it won’t yield a high conversion rates all the time.
This is simply because the fact that…

People don’t always use all the information available to them in order to make a decision, that’s the harsh reality.

Instead people depend on certain rules and shortcuts that guides them into taking any decision.

One of these shortcuts and rules is Reciprocity.
Reciprocity is one of the basic concepts in the science of persuasion, which basically helps you as an affiliate marketer understand how to make people take a certain decisions, like buying your affiliate offer.

I am going to explain the Reciprocity concept and how to implement it in your affiliate marketing efforts to increase your sales and make more money.
The science of persuasion tells us that reciprocity is the obligation to give when you receive first.

So a real life example will be, when a friend invites you to his birthday party (you receive) then you feel obligated to invite him back to your birthday party (give).
If someone did you a favor then you feel the need to return the favor to him/her.

This all leads us to the rule that people are more likely to say “Yes! To you when you give them something first.

Science of Persuasion; Reciprocity can Boost your Affiliate Sales - idea

Of course people will not say yes to anything just because you gave them something first, you must ask them or expect from them something reasonable.

Also it might not be as easy as:

“I give someone something then he will be obligated to agree to do something for me”.

You have to consider how you are giving something to that person.

For example, when a waiter brings you your bill in most cases you will pay the bill and pay him a reasonable tip.
But if that waiter gave you a mint with your bill then you probably going to increase his tip, and if he said to you “this mint is for you my best customer” then you will give him even more tip.

This shows us that the way you give something is very crucial even more than what you are giving itself.

So for reciprocity to work:
• You need to be the first to give
• Give something personalized
• Give something unexpected

How to Implement Reciprocity in your Affiliate Marketing Plan

Using what we know about the reciprocity concept, I am going to explain some strategies that you can implement on your affiliate page to boost conversion rates and sales.

  • Strategy #1

Select a profitable niche that you want to sell affiliate products in, and then build a blog filled with content and perhaps free training course.
Try and promote this blog to get as much readers as you can. Over time you will see that all your blog posts got tons of likes and retweets which gives you more social media exposure.

And after sometime put an ad for the products you want to sell as an affiliate.
Because at this point many of your users will be regular visitors to your blog, and when they finally see a product that you recommend they will feel the need to buy it because you were so generous to them across the time they have been visiting and reading your blog.

  • Strategy #2

In your affiliate product review page tell your visitors to download something that goes well with the product you are trying to sell.
For example:

If I am selling (as an affiliate) a wordpress plugin related to SEO then I will offer them a 15 pages pdf guide on SEO as a bonus.

But his bonus will be given to them before they buy the actual product.
Here I was the first to give, and I did something unexpected because I gave them a generous bonus before they even buy, and it was personalized because it helps solve their problem and it goes well with the product they are considering buying.

  • Strategy #3

You know how nowadays every ebook, guide, software out there can only be downloaded if you opt-in or provide your email address, as much as that work it is still annoying to have to be the one to give first in order to take.

Try offering your PDF guide without an opt-in and tell your visitors that download doesn’t require them to give their email.
When you do that, at this point people feel how generous you are and how unexpected this is which is very important factor in persuading them to buy your affiliate product.
So what you do is at the end of your PDF guide, you mention the affiliate product that you want them to buy and introduce it in 1 paragraph.

People will feel the need to return you the favor of giving them something for free first.

  • Strategy #4

If you are promoting a software product or service, then try to contact the product owner and convince them to give you a version of the product that you can give to your visitors.

It has been known that when people are given the product for free for a period of time, they end up buying it at the end. They feel how generous you are and they may end up falling in love with your affiliate product, and that is more persuasive then any word you can type.

  • Strategy #5

In your blog, try to organize a monthly events and training sessions for your readers.
You can see Google hangouts or Skype group video chat for that or even any online webinar service that will help you host such events.

These events are amazing for selling affiliate products, because you get very personal with your audience via video or audio and you spend like 1 hour giving them advice and tips and tricks and at the end you sell them your affiliate product.

  • Using any of these strategies or even developing your own strategies that implement the reciprocity concept can really add a huge improvement to the way you do affiliate marketing.

These changes are cheap and not time consuming yet they can bring you more money.
As an affiliate marketer I think you should always try to find ways to convince people to buy from you as it mounts to higher conversion rates.

Also there are many other affiliate marketing techniques you can learn from this one. Combine them with what you have learned here so far and you can see sales increase.
